Evan Goodrow

Aug 11, 2012 7:30pm - 10:00pm

From the East Coast and French Caribbean to Spain and Portugal, the EGB (Evan Goodrow Band) has played with most of their musical heros, including B.B. King, Jimmy Buffet, Buddy Guy, Peter Frampton, G.E. Smith, Susan Tedechi, Los Lonely Boys, J. Geils, and many others. They remain completely independent of what might be referred to as the “traditional music business” road shows and record labels.

Chocolate Mousse is the best way to describe the complex deliciousness of Evan’s tenth recording as a leader, the Neo-Soul album “Say It.” The collection of 13 songs captures the soul and interaction of the Evan Goodrow Band’s latest formation as a trio (including John Cooke on the hammond B3 and Phil Antoniades on drums). From soulful vocals and sexy shorelines to tight funk and ultra dynamic solos they’ve captured a sound that pushes their neo-soul into the jamband arena.

The new ballad single “Let Me” has been #1 in the “Funk Rock” digital download category for over 6 weeks on amazon.com’s digital download chart as well as #2 in “Blues Rock, starting in the last weeks of October, just a month shy from it’s September 24th release.

As a result of grassroots hard work, Evan has built a large body of music (this is his 10th CD as a bandleader), won various awards (including the prestigious Boston Blues Award) and played with most of his musical heros, including B.B. King, Jimmy Buffet, Buddy Guy, Peter Frampton, G.E. Smith (from the Saturday Night Live Band), along with Susan Tedeschi, J. Geils, Sam Kininger (Soulive), and local Boston favorites Johnny A., Entrain, David Maxwell, and Gordon Beadle.

What better way to see a concert than sitting at the edge of the sand, with the ocean as a back-drop. Hear great regional and national musicians as they fill the salt air with the sounds of summer. Then, enjoy a dazzling fireworks display over the ocean. A great family night out. Bring a beach chair and experience what summer should be all about – fun, beach pizza, ice cream cones and more!
